The Laws of Anime and Video Games

It has been brought to our attention that anime and video games tend to follow certain rules, cliches, etc. So we have taken it upon ourselves to assemble a list of these. If you have something you would like to submit, email us!

The Law of Stupid Weapons (The Sigma Rule)
The stupider the weapon, the more likely it is to work against the villain.
(By Nova Strike)

The Bishounen Rule
No matter how sick, twisted, evil, and hell-bent on killing everything the villain may be, he will still have legions of fangirls among the audience who all claim he is just "misunderstood".

The Red Hair Theorem (The Lina Inverse-Gaav Theory)
Characters with orange-red hair tend to be good guys, while characters with dark, deep red hair are inherently villains.

The DDD Law (The Tifa-Naga Theory)
The larger a female character's breasts are, the smaller their outfit is.

The Law of 3-5-7 (The MKR-YST-FY Law)
The main cast of good guys will always fall into groups of 3 (Magic Knight Rayearth), 5 (Gundam Wing, YST, etc), or 7 (Fushigi Yuugi).

The FUNimation Corollary
If FUNimation dubs it, it will suck.

The Dubbed for Daytime TV Corollary
If it is dubbed for American television, it will be dumbed down and have all the good stuff removed.

Spandex Indestructibility Principle
Spandex is indestructible, as are all who wear it.
First Collarary: The indestructibility of Spandex rubs off on those who wear it often.
The DBZ Collarary: The durability of any given item of Spandex clothing is directly proportional to the destructive force applied.

Self-Induced Drag Factor of Minovsky engines
All engines powered by Minovsky reactors create a High-Drag Factor directly proportional to the amount of thrust applied, offsetting the efficiency of said engines. Thus, constant thrust at 400 kilometers/hour would produce not constant acceleration of 400 km/hour, but constant speed of 400 km/hour. Which is good, because in the average battle, were this not true, an average gundam would reach speeds so high the G-force would crush the pilots.

Acceleration Immunity of Mecha
Mecha, as well as anything in them, are immune to the effects of acceleration (otherwise the mecha pilots would be passing out every time they performed a high-G maneuver.

Mecha-Pilot connection
Mecha and pilot are connected in inexplicable ways. thus, the pilot bleeds when the gundam is hit by a cannon that destroys the outer armor (but does not penetrate the cockpit)
