The second child of Relena and Heero Yuy, Ariana was born in A.C. 202. She did well in school, showing a level of intelligence and creativity well in advance of her age group, but with difficulty focusing on things that didn't interest her; a fact that prevented her from duplicating her brother Yoshino's academic achievements. From an early age, she showed an avid interest in mechanical and electrical engineering as well as an uncanny knack for putting things together. Though she has never been tested, it is quite likely that she possesses a genius-level IQ score.

Unlike her brother who was summoned to action in the Venusian conflict, Ariana willfully ran headlong into it by creating her own Gundam from scrap wreckage she got from her "uncle" Duo Maxwell. Whether her family likes it or not, Ariana is bent on leaving her mark on the conflict. Whether or not she realizes what exactly she's getting into, however, only the future will tell.
