Technical and Historical Notes
In preparation of the
expected conflict with Venus, Mars governor Milliardo Peacecraft, with
funding from the Winner Corporation, secretly designed and rebuilt the
original Gundams to meet the threat. Prototype Mobile Suits, Inc,
already well regarded by the governor for their refit of his Tallgeese
mobile suit, was again hired to
design and help build these upgraded Gundams.
The modern version of Duo's infamous Deathscythe Hell boasts little
noticeable change in armament or equipment- stealth suite, the standard
vulcan guns, and the small multi-purpose buster shield. Much of the
unit's changes were cosmetic adjustments to the armoring, or internal
hardware, using the same cutting edge technology and parts used on the
other new Gundams. The most noteworthy change to the suit's armament
was the suit's "chain scythe", a dual-bladed beam scythe with a long
chain on the end of it. The electromagnetic weight on the chain could
be used to latch on to things, usually to bring an enemy mobile suit
within range of the Gundam's deadly close-range arsenal.
The Gundam would be completed very early in the war, and see action in
a handful of skirmishes before hostilities were temporarily ceased by
Venus's offer for peace talks. It would again see action after the
talks failed badly, and serve as Duo's unit throughout the rest of the
war.
