Technical and Historical Notes
One of the first new
mass-production mobile suits to see action since the Eve Wars, the
EDO-MSX07 Draco was the Earth Defense Organization's answer to the
older
OZ-12SMS Taurus and the Venusian
military's newer
VMF01-1VMS Orion in the battlefields of
space. The Draco would prove to be an inexpensive yet versatile unit,
with a standard armament boasting more firepower than the Taurus or
Orion in the form of a pair of small beam guns mounted on the arms. In
addition, the Draco was also compatible with many of the same weapons
modules for the
EDO-MSX01 Scorpio,
improving its capabilities and flight mode firepower by mounting these
modules on the hardpoint on the suit's backside. Like the Scorpio, the
Draco would first see combat in early November, AC 216 during the Une
Conflict, when a number of these suits failed in their attempt to
prevent rebel Preventers following Lady Une from escaping to Mars.
